Festus Kigen has been an all-regional performer twice at TCU.

History

  • The Frogs have had seven NCAA Cross Country Championship participants since 2003. During that stretch, Mary Kinyanjui (two times), Ami Butler, Calandra Stewart, Kip Kangogo and Festus Kigen (two times) have all represented the Frogs at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
  • As a team, the Frogs have been ranked as high as 30th in the country during the last eight seasons.
  • Eliud Njubi garnered All-American accolades after finishing 28th overall at the 2000 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
  • The Frogs have finished in the top-10 in the final team standings at the NCAA Regional Championships on eight occasions between the men’s and women’s squads since 2002. In that same stretch, the Frogs have had eight individual place in the top-10 at the NCAA Regional Championships.
  • The Frogs have had two runners garner gold medal honors at the NCAA Regional Championships since 2002 and have had three other runners place in the top-five on three occasions during that stretch.
  • the Frogs have placed first or second individually at the conference championship five times since the 2002 campaign, including a pair of conference individual champions. In addition, TCU has recorded a trio of runner-up performances since 2003 at the conference championships.
  • Former TCU standouts Glady’s Keitany and Mary Kinyanjui captured multiple conference titles in cross country while Festus Kigen has place in the top-15 three times at the conference championships on the men’s side.
  • The Frogs had had four conference champions during their history with two of them coming over the last six seasons. In addition, TCU has placed 10 runners in the top-10 at the conference championships since 2002.
