Eddie Williamson
Assistant Head Coach (Offensive Line)
- Eddie Williamson is entering his second decade as the assistant head coach and offensive line tutor for TCU after joining the program prior to the 2001 season.
- Williamson has helped TCU send 10 players from its offensive line into NFL camps since Gary Patterson took over head coaching duties in 2001.
- During the last six seasons, Williamson has coached 16 All-Mountain West Conference selections, while four of his former TCU linemen are currently active in the NFL.
- Williamson’s 2010 offensive line helped the Frogs set single-season school records for touchdowns and points scored while tying for fourth nationally by allowing only 0.7 sacks per game. The Frogs ranked No. 4 nationally in scoring, No. 10 in rushing and No. 12 in total offense.
- Jake Kirkpatrick was a first-team All-American in 2010 and recipient of the Rimington Trophy, which is awarded to the nation’s top center. Kirkpatrick was joined on the All-MWC First Team by tackle Marcus Cannon, who was a repeat selection.
- During the 2009, three of TCU’s five offensive line starters received post-season recognition, including Marshall Newhouse, who was a fifth-round NFL Draft selection of teh Green Bay Packers.
- Before coming to TCU, Williamson served as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Wake Forest. He has also served as an assistant coach at Texas Southern, Baylor, North Carolina, Wake Forest, South Carolina, Georgia, Duke and Furman. Williamson was also the head coach at Virginia Military Institute for four seasons (1985-88).
Gary Patterson
Head Coach
- Gary Patterson, who has served as TCU head coach since taking the reigns of the program in December 2000, has helped elevate Horned Frog football to its position among the nation’s elite. Now entering his 11th season, Patterson has guided the Frogs to four top-10 national finishes in the last six seasons.
- The Frog head coach has garnered 10 National Coach of the Year honors during the last two seasons:

American Football Monthly Coach of the Year (2010) - Patterson has led the Frogs to a 25-1 overall record during the last two seasons, including a pair of BCS postseason appearances. TCU recorded two of the three 12-win seasons in its history during the successful stretch.
- TCU has taken a place among the nation’s elite under Patterson. The Frogs are the only team in the nation over the last three seasons to finished ranked among the top 10 in both the Associated Press and USA Today polls.
- In 2010, TCU posted a perfect 13-0 season capped by TCU’s first-ever Rose Bowl victory, a 21-19 win over Wisconsin. The Frogs finished the year No. 2 in both major national polls for the school’s highest final rating since winning the 1938 national championship.
- The 2009 season saw the Frogs go a perfect 12-0 in the regular season to earn their first BCS appearance in the Fiesta Bowl.
- Patterson guided the Frogs to a No. 1 ranking in total defense for the third consecutive season in 2010, as well as the fifth time in the last 11 campaigns. Since the NCAA began tracking statistics in 1937, no other school has finished first as many times as the Frogs.
- Patterson has led the Frogs to at least 10 wins seven times during his career with the Frogs, including six 11-win seasons since the 2003 campaign. No other coach in TCU history has recorded more than two 10-win campaigns.
- With a career record of 98-28 (.778 winning percentage), Patterson is just 12 victories shy of becoming TCU’s winningest all-time coach. His winning percentage ranks third among active coaches nationally with a minimum of five years experience.
- Patterson has guided the Frogs to six conference championships and 12 bowl appearances since coming to TCU, including nine bowl games as head coach.
- During his career, Patterson has coached 130 All-Conference selections, 13 First-Team All-Americans, 13 Freshman All-Americans and two Academic All-Americans.
- Currently, Patterson has coached 21 players that have been selected in the NFL Draft with a total of 41 in NFL camps.
- Patterson has been active in the community during his time on the TCU campus. He was honored with the 2011 Distinguished Texan Award from the National Football Foundation’s Gridiron Club of Dallas, while the Exchange Club of Fort Worth named Patterson Fort Worth’s Outstanding Citizen in 2011.
Jarrett Anderson
Co-Offensive Coordinator (Running Backs)
- Jarrett Anderson, who has completed 14 seasons with the TCU football program, was promoted to co-offensive coordinator in February 2009. He also became running backs coach after working with the wide receivers for the previous eight seasons.
- In 2010 and for the third-straight season, TCU shattered single-season school records for points scored (541) and touchdowns (73). The Frogs scored in all but three quarters during the year.
- TCU ranked No. 4 nationally in scoring, No. 12 in total offense and No. 10 in rushing offense during its perfect 13-0 season, which ended with a 21-19 Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin.
- Anderson coached the prolific sophomore rushing duo of Ed Wesley and Matthew Tucker in 2010. The pair combined for 1,787 yards, including 1,078 by Wesley, an All-MWC first teamer and Doak Walker Award semifinalist.
- In Anderson’s first season as co-offensive coordinator in 2009, TCU ranked fifth nationally in rushing offense and scoring while placing seventh in total offense and eight in passing efficiency.
- Anderson, who previously served as TCU’s wide receivers coach, had three wideouts drated by NFL teams in an eight-year period: Cory Rodgers (2006) and Adrian Madise and LaTarence Dunbar (2003).
- Anderson began his career with the Frogs as a graduate assistant (1998-00) where he worked primarily with the Frogs’ offensive line.
- Anderson began his playing career at Tyler Junior College and lettered for the New Mexico Lobos in 1992 and 1993.
Dick Bumpas
Defensive Coordinator (Defensive Line)
- Dick Bumpas has completed seven seasons as TCU’s defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.
- The TCU defensive coordinator has been one of five finalists for the Broyles Award, which recognizes the nation’s top assistant coach, in each of the last three seasons.
- Bumpas has helped TCU field one of the nation’s top defenses since he arrived on campus. The Frogs have led the nation in total defense each of the last three seasons and five times in the last 11 seasons.
- Since the NCAA began tracking statistics in 1937, no other school has led the nation in total defense as many times as the Frogs.
- In 2010, Bumpas’ defensive unit featured a first-team All-American at all three levels of his starting lineup in defensive end Wayne Daniels, linebacker Tank Carder and safety Tejay Johnson.
- Bumpas mentored former Horned Frog defensive end Jerry Hughes into being a two-time consensus All-American and the 2009 recipient of the Ted Hendricks Award and Lott Trophy.
- Bumpas has been a part of a conference championship team in four different conference during his collegiate coaching career and has coached at all three service academics.
- A standout for the Arkansas Razorbacks, Bumpas was selected as the Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year following the 1970 campaign. In 2006, Bumpuas was inducted into the University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor.
- During his professional career, Bumpas played tight end and linebacker for the Memphis Southmen in the World Football League and British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League.
Rusty Burns
Assistant Coach (Wide Receivers)
- Rusty Burns has completed two seasons as TCU’s wide receivers coach after joining the program prior to the 2009 season.
- In 2010 and for the third-straight season, TCU shattered single-season school records for points scored (541) and touchdowns (73). The Frogs scored in all but three quarters during the year.
- TCU ranked No. 4 nationally in scoring, No. 12 in total offense and No. 10 in rushing offense during its perfect 13-0 season, which ended with a 21-19 Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin.
- Burns tutored former standout wideout Jeremy Kerley to a career-high 56-catch season in 2010, as he became the 13th player in program history with at least 50 grabs in a season. Kerley also tied Mike Renfro’s 1977 TCU record with 10 touchdown receptions.
- Kerley was named second-team All-Mountain West Conference in 2010, along with honorable-mention member Jimmy Young.
- In his first season with the Frogs, Burns led four of TCU’s top-six receives to career-highs in reception totals. In addition, Burns guided three TCU receivers (Antoine Hicks, Jeremy Kerley and Jimmy Young) to All-MWC honors.
- Prior to joining the Frogs, Burns spent four seasons (2004-07) as the offensive coordinator at SMU where the Mustangs set a school-record with 29 touchdown passes (2006) while their 325 points scored that season ranked third in the all-time record books.
- Burns has also been an offensive coordinator at Cincinnati (2002-03), Wyoming (1999-01), Memphis (1996-98) and Connecticut (1980-88).
- During his time at Cincinnati, Burns led a record-setting offensive attack that helped the Bearcats to Conference USA championship. In addition, Cincinnati set school record for passing yards, total offensive and points scored during his tenure.
- In his final year at Wyoming, Burns guided the most improved offense in the Mountain West Conference.
Justin Fuente
Co-Offensive Coordinator (Quarterbacks)
- Justin Fuente, who has completed two seasons as TCU’s co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, has been on staff since Spring 2007. He formerly served two seasons as the Frogs’ running backs coach.
- Under his direction, Fuente has helped lead a record-setting TCU offensive attack the last two seasons. In 2010 and for the third-straight season, TCU shattered single-season school records for points scored (541) and touchdowns (73). The Frogs scored in all but three quarters during the year.

- Fuente tutored quarterback Andy Dalton to two of the finest seasons ever by a TCU quarterback. Dalton, who capped his career as the Frog career leader in every major passing category, was namded Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year as both a junior and senior and was a finalist for both the Manning Award and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
- In his first season as co-offensive coordinator in 2009, TCU ranked No. 5 nationally in scoring offense (38.3 points per game) and rushing (239.5 yards per game), No. 7 in total offense (456.7 yards per game) and No. 8 in passing efficiency (154.1).
- Prior to taking moving over to working with the quarterbacks, Fuente coached tailback Aaron Brown into being a sixth-round selection by the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL Draft.
- Fuente arrived at TCU from Illinois State, where he spent six seasons as quarterbacks coach.
- Fuente played two seasons at Oklahoma (1996-97) before transferring to Murray State. Following graduation, the TCU assistant coach played professionally with the Oklahoma Wranglers in the Arena Football League.
Trey Haverty
Assistant Coach (Safeties)
- Trey Haverty begins his first season as the safeties coach for the Frogs.
- Haverty came to TCU from Millsaps College, where he served as defensive coordinator for one season in 2010.
- Formerly a TCU graduate assistant from 2007 through 2009, Haverty worked with Coach Gary Patterson and the Frog defense. The 2008 and 2009 campaigns saw the unit lead the nation in total defense.
- Haverty first arrived at TCU after serving as wide receivers coach at Cisco Junior College in 2006. His first coaching position was at Midlothian High School in 2005.
- A former standout wide receiver for Texas Tech (2001-04), Haverty totaled 110 receptions for 1,326 yards and seven touchdowns in his Red Raider career.
- As a senior for Tech in 2004, Haverty led the Big 12 in receptions (77) while placing second in receiving yards (1,019). He was a second-team All-American by Sports Illustrated and a third-team Associated Press pick.
Clay Jennings
Assistant Coach (Cornerbacks)
- Clay Jennings has completed three seasons as TCU’s cornerbacks coach after joining the program prior to the 2008 season. Five of his former pupils currently play in the NFL.
- In each of Jennings’ three seasons with the program, TCU has led the nation in total defense. The Frogs also were No. 1 nationally in pass defense in 2010.

- Jennings has tutored three All-Mountain West Conference selections at cornberback while at TCU. In 2009, both Rafael Priest and Nick Sanders earned first-team All-MWC honors, while Jason Teague was a second-team selection in 2010.
- Prior to joining the Frogs, Jennings served as the cornerbacks coach at Baylor (2007) and safeties coach at Houston (2005-06). During his time at Houston, Jennings helped the Cougars post back-to-back bowl appearances, including to the 2006 Conference USA championship.
- Jennings spent two seasons (2003-04) as the defensive backs coach at Louisiana-Lafayette and helped the program to a No. 11 national ranking in pass defense.
- The TCU assistant coach mentored NFL players Antwain Spann (New England Patriots), C.C. Brown (Houston Texans) and Michael Adams (Arizona Cardinals) during his coaching career.
- Jennings worked as secondary coach and recruiting coordinator at Sam Houston State (2001-02) and helped the Bearkats to a share of the 2001 Southland Conference championship. In addition, Jennings has coached at Southern Arkansas (2000), Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa (1999) and the Morehouse College in Atlanta (1998).
- During his playing career, Jennings was a four-year letterwinner (1992-95) as a defensive lineman and special teams standout at North Texas.
Dan Sharp
Assistant Coach (Special Teams & Tight Ends)
- Dan Sharp is beginning his second decade of a second stint as an assistant coach at his alma mater, TCU. The TCU Hall of Famer doubles as both the tight ends and special teams coach.
- A 2005 inductee into the TCU Letterman’s Association Hall of Fame, Sharp previously coached for nine seasons at TCU (1991-97) before heading to Tulsa for the 1998 campaign.
- As the special teams coordinator, Sharp has helped the Frogs field one of the nation’s top units over the past few years. The squad finished ranked among the nation’s top-7 teams in both kickoff and punt return average in 2010.
- TCU has fielded the Mountain West Conference’s first-team return specialist each of the last six seasons, including former Frog Jeremy Kerley, who was a two-time MWC Special Teams Player of the Year. Kerley was one of just two players to rank in the top-20 nationally in both punt and kickoff return average.
- Sharp has helped develop several successful kickers during his time on staff, including 2009 All-MWC first-team selection Ross Evans.
- Sharp’s tight ends also have received recognition, as former Frog Evan Frosch was an honorable-mention All-MWC pick in 2010.
- A standout for the Frogs, Sharp garnered All-Southwest Conference accolades during the 1984 then went on to spend a pair of seasons in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons.
Tony Tademy
Assistant Coach (Linebackers)
- Tony Tademy has completed six seasons as TCU’s linebackers coach since joining the program prior to the 2005 season.
- Tademy has coached at least two All-Mountain West Conference selections in each of his six years. Four Horned Frog linebackers in the last three seasons have advanced to play in the NFL.
- In 2010, Rose Bowl Defensive MVP Tank Carder was named an AFCA All-American and MWC Defensive Player of the Year. Tanner Brock also garnered first-team all-conference honors in his first season as a starter.
- Among Tademy’s former pupils are Daryl Washington, a 2010 second-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals, and David Hawthorne, the Seattle Seahawks’ leading tackler in 2010. Jason Phillips and Robert Henson, both first-team All-MWC picks for the Frogs, were selected in the 2009 NFL draft.
- Washington was selected to multiple All-American teams as a senior in 2009 and was a semifinalist for the Butkus Award. Phillips became the first defensive player in MWC history to be named first- or second-team all-conference in four consecutive seasons, while Henson was a first-team selection as a senior.
- Tademy spent three seasons at the University of Houston (1994-96), where he helped the Cougars to the 1996 Liberty Bowl. Prior to joining TCU, Tademy spent two seasons as the defensive coordinator at McKinney High School in Texas.
- During his playing career, Tademy was a linebacker at Louisiana Tech and led the Bulldogs to a pair of Independence Bowl appearances.
