Jerry Hughes
DE, Indianapolis Colts
- Jerry Hughes was selected in the first round by the Indianapolis Colts during the 2010 NFL Draft.
- Hughes became only the second two-time consensus All-American in TCU history. During his senior season, he was honored with the Lott Trophy as well as the Ted Hendricks Award, which is given to the nation’s top defensive end.
- During his junior campaign with the Frogs, Hughes led the nation with 15 sacks.

- TCU boasts two players in the Professional Football Hall of Fame: quarterback Sam Baugh and defensive lineman Bob Lilly. Both players were named to the NFL’s 75th Anniversary Team in 1994.
- Future Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson, now in his 10th season as a member of the New York Jets, has ranked as one of the NFL’s top players over the last decade. The All-Pro running back rushed for at least 1,100 yards in each of his first eight seasons and set a single-season NFL record with 31 touchdowns in 2006.
- Defensive end Aaron Schobel, who recently retired after nine seasons with the Buffalo Bills, was a two-time Pro Bowl selection at defensive end in 2006 and 2007.
- Former Frog Larry Brown was named MVP of Super Bowl XXX after recording two interceptions.
- Other Frogs to play for recent Super Bowl champions include offensive tackle Michael Toudouze with the Indianapolis Colts (Super Bowl XLI) and deep snapper Jared Retkofsky with the Pittsburgh Steelers (Super Bowl XLIII).
Daryl Washington
LB, Arizona Cardinals
- Daryl Washington was selected in the second round by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2010 NFL Draft.
- A first team All-American for the Frogs during his senior season, Washington was a semifinalist for the Dick Butkus Award, which recognizes the nation’s top linebacker.
- Washington led the Frogs with 109 tackles during his senior season and finished his tenure with 210 tackles. As a sophomore, Washington led the nation with three blocked punts.
David Hawthorne
LB, Seattle Seahawks
- David Hawthorne signed a free agent with the Seattle Seahawks following the 2008 NFL Draft. During the 2009 campaign, Hawthorne led the Seahawks with 117 tackles.
- A four-year starter at linebacker for the Frogs, Hawthorns tallied 186 tackles during his career.
Marvin White
S, Cincinnati Bengals
- Marvin White was a fourth round selection by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2007 NFL Draft. During his career, White has played for the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions.
- A two-time All-Mountain West Conference selection, White was selected as the Frogs’ Defensive Most Valuable Player as a senior when he recorded a team-high 86 tackles.
- During his career, White posted 153 tackles to go along with seven interceptions.
Clint Gresham
LS, Seattle Seahawks
- Clint Gresham originally signed with the New Orleans Saints as a free agent following the 2010 NFL Draft. Currently, the former TCU long snapper is a member of the Seattle Seahawks.
- Gresham was ranked the best snapper in the country by ESPN’s Mel Kiper, Jr. and was the only long snapper invited to the 2010 NFL Combine.
Drew Coleman
CB, New York Jets
- Drew Coleman was selected in the sixth round by the New York Jets in the 2006 NFL Draft. During his rookie campaign, the former TCU standout made four starts at cornerback.
- A two-year starter for the Frogs, Coleman garnered All-Mountain West Conference accolades during his senior campaign. That season, he tied for second on the Frogs with four interceptions.
Aaron Brown
RB, Detroit Lions
- Aaron Brown was selected in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.
- Selected as the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year in 2005, Brown went on to conclude his career ranked 10th in the all-time record books with 2,596 yards.
- Brown ranked fifth in the nation in kickoff returns with a 29.2-yard average during his senior campaign. The former TCU tailback recorded his breakout game as a freshman with 163 yards in a Thursday night victory over Utah on ESPN.
Jason Phillips
LB, Baltimore Ravens
- Jason Phillips was selected in the fifth round by the Baltimore Ravens during the 2009 NFL Draft.
- The former TCU standout became the first defensive player in Mountain West Conference history to be a first- or second-team all-conference selection in each of his four seasons.
- A 2008 All-American, Phillips led the Frogs in tackles in three of his four seasons with the program en route to tallying 315 total tackles during his his career.
Marshall Newhouse
OT, Green Bay Packers
- Marshall Newhouse was a fifth round selection for the Green Bay Packers during the 2010 NFL Draft.
- The former TCU offensive lineman was selected to a pair of All-American teams during his senior season and was tabbed as the Best Offensive Lineman in the State by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.
- Newhouse garnered All-Mountain West Conference accolades in each of his final three seasons with the Frogs and concluded his career by starting all, but one game, during that stretch.
LaDainian Tomlinson
RB, New York Jets
- LaDainian Tomlinson has established himself as one of the greatest running backs to ever play in the NFL.
- Selected fifth overall in the 2000 NFL Draft, Tomlinson was selected as the NFL Most Valuable Player and Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year during the 2006 season after posting a league-record 31 touchdowns.
- A five-time Pro Bowl selection, Tomlinson has garnered numerous awards, including the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award to go along with the NBC Player of the Year Award, and was selected to the NFL All-Decade Team for the 2000s.
- Tomlinson spent the majority of his career with the San Diego Chargers before signing with the New York Jets prior to the beginning of the 2010 NFL season.
- Tomlinson was honored with the Doak Walker Award during his senior campaign en route to finishing fourth overall for the Heisman Trophy. A two-time All-American, Tomlinson rushed for a NCAA single-game record 406 yards against UTEP in 1999.
