Jim Christian
Head Coach
- Jim Christian, who was named the 19th head coach in program history on March 29, 2008, has completed three seasons leading the TCU men’s basketball team.
- During his nine years as a head coach, Christian has recorded an all-time record of 176-116 (.603 winning percentage), including five post-season appearances.
- In his first three seasons with the Frogs, Christian has mentored five All-Mountain West Conference performers, including second-team all-conference award winners Kevin Langford (2008) and Ronnie Moss (2009) and third-teamer Hank Thorns (2010).
- Christian also coached TCU two-time all-conference performer Zvonko Buljan, who was also honored as the 2008-09 Mountain West Conference Newcomer of the Year.
- Christian spent six seasons at Kent State prior to his arrival at TCU where he recorded a record of 138-58 (.704 winning percentage, which is the highest winning percentage in Mid-American Conference history). During his time with the Golden Flashes, Christian recorded at least 20 victories in each season.
- A two-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year award winner, Christian guided the Golden Flashes to five post-season appearances, including a pair of trips to the NCAA Tournament. In addition, he guided the Golden Flashes to their first top-25 ranking after peaking at 23rd in the nation in the Associated Press poll and 24th in the ESPN/USA Today poll.
- During his time at Kent State, Christian guided 16 players to Mid-American Conference post-season accolades, including six first-team selections to go along with four MAC Defensive Players of the Year and two MAC Players of the Year.
- Christian brings 19 years of collegiate coaching experience to the sidelines for the Frogs, including stops at Pitt, Miami (Ohio), Western Kentucky and St. Francis (Pa.). During his first season as a head coach at Kent State, Christian guided the Golden Flashes to a 22-9 overall record en route to being selected as the National Rookie Coach of the Year by Basketball Times
- Currently, Christian is the only collegiate basketball coach in the country to have coached two NFL Pro Bowlers in San Diego Chargers’ tight end Antonio Gates (former Kent State forward) and Washington Redskins’ linebacker London Fletcher-Baker (former St. Francis forward).
Bill Wuczynski
Assistant Coach
- Bill Wuczynski has completed three seasons as a TCU assistant coach after being named to Jim Christian’s original Frog staff in Spring 2008.
- In addition to his duties on the recruiting trail, Wuczynski is primarily responsible for coaching the Frogs’ low post players. Among his current pupils are three young talents in forwards Garlon Green, Nikola Cerina and Amric Fields.
- Wuczynski owns 14 years of collegiate coaching experience, including previous stops at Florida International, Loyola University-Chicago and his alma mater, UNLV.
- Prior to joining the Frogs, Wuczynski spent three seasons at both Florida International and Loyola University-Chicago in addition to five campaigns at UNLV.
- During his time with the Panthers, Wuczynski coached a pair of top defensive players in the Sun Belt Conference. At Loyola University-Chicago, he helped the Ramblers record 32 victories in a two-year span, which were the most victories in back-to-back seasons in over a decade.
- The Chicago, native, spent five seasons at UNLV as both an assistant coach and Director of Basketball Operations. Wuczynski was part of a Runnin’ Rebels coaching staff that was recognized by the Sporting News with the Best Recruiting Class in the Nation during the 1997 season as well as the second-best recruiting class in the country in 1999 by Hoop Scoop.
- Wuczynski helped the Runnin’ Rebels post at least 20 victories in each of his five seasons with the program, including a pair of NCAA Tournament and NIT appearances. During his tenure, he coached several NBA talents (Shawn Marion, Keon Clark, Tyrone Nesby and Marcus Banks) in addition to two Olympic Team member (Lamar Odom, USA & Mark Dickel, New Zealand).
Cody Hopkins
Director of Basketball Operations
- Cody Hopkins has served as TCU’s Director of Operations since 2009.
- In his role, Hopkins is responsible for the program’s overall budget, travel arrangements, summer camps and clinics in addition to the program’s video exchange program.
- He previously spent two seasons at Indian Hill Community College, where he helped the Indians post a 58-13 overall record and No. 1 NJCAA ranking during the 2008-09 season.
- Hopkins joined Indian Hills Community College after spending one season at Angelo State University under Fred Rike. In addition, Hopkins served as a coach for the second-ranked AAU Team in the country in Team Texas.
- A former player, Hopkins spent a pair of seasons at Centenary College and Northeastern State following two years at Northern Oklahoma.
