



The TCU women’s rifle program became the first TCU Athletics program to host a NCAA National Championship in both 2009 and 2010.
History
- In 2010, the TCU women’s rifle program became the first all-female squad to capture the NCAA National Championship.
- Lorenzen was selected as the Most Outstanding Athlete at the 2010 NCAA National Championships by the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association. Sarah Scherer became the first-ever TCU shooter to claim an individual national title as the TCU freshman captured the smallbore title.
- Erin Lorenzen and Simone Riford became the first shooters in TCU history to earn All-American accolades in each of their four seasons.
- Erin Lorenzen became the first TCU student-athlete to earn the Mountain West Conference Hal Rothman Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes one student-athlete every year for his/her sportsmanship and ethical behavior.
- The Frogs finished third overall at the 2008 NCAA National Championships held at West Point, N.Y. The Frogs made their first appearance at the NCAA National Championships in 2007 where they finished fifth overall in Fairbanks, Alaska.
- In 2009, the TCU women’s rifle team earned the distinction of being the first TCU athletics program to host a NCAA National Championship event.
- The TCU women’s rifle program has recorded a top-five showing at the NCAA National Championships in each of the last four seasons.
- Sue Ann Sandusky became the first TCU All-American when she claimed honors in 1972-74.
