The TCU Athletics Department notched a cumulative grade point average of 2.975 during the Fall 2009 semester, which was the highest since reporting began in Fall 1998.

Academics

  • TCU Athletic Academic Services Office is staffed by four full-time Directors, Assistant Directors and Academic Advisors along with two graduate assistants, NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator, Writing Specialist and numerous tutors.
  • The TCU Athletic Academic Services Office has over 15,000-square feet in two different facilites and offers all TCU student-athletes a comprehensive tutor program.
  • The ultimate goal of the TCU Athletic Academic Services Offices is to assist TCU student-athletes and help equip them with the necessary tools to excel in the classroom, on the field while also preparing them for a career after University life.

  • The TCU Athletics Department had 71 student-athletes garner Academic All-Mountain West Conference accolades during the 2008-09 academic campaign.
  • TCU is made up of eight colleges, which features 117 undergraduate areas of study, 41 master’s level program and 15 areas of doctoral study.
  • TCU has 506 full-time faculty members, and 83 percent of faculty members hold the highest degree in their respective discipline.
  • TCU has a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio.
  • The Neely School of Business was ranked as one of the top-20 MBA programs by the Wall Street Journal for three consecutive years.
  • The Department of Communication Studies features two faculty members ranked in the top-100 all-time active and prolific scholars in the field, including Dr. Ralph R. Behnke – who is ranked in the top-10.
  • The College of Education features Teacher Preparation Programs that are accredited and pass rates average above 98 percent.
  • TCU is the only University in the nation with two special education laboratory schools: The KinderFrogs Schools for preschool children with Down Syndrome and The Starpoint School for elementary-age students with learning differences.
