Walsh Physical Performance Complex

  • The $11-million Walsh Physical Performance Complex was completed in 1996 and dedicated to F. Howard Walsh – a former TCU Board of Trustees member – along with his wife, Mary D. Fleming.
  • The Walsh Physical Performance Complex is over 22,000-square-feet and is home to the Sports Medicine Center, weight room, football locker room, equipment room in addition to housing offices and dressing rooms for athletics staff members, coaches and student-athletes.
  • The TCU Sports Medicine Center is situated near both the football locker room and weight room and features multiple treatment tables and full-size whirlpool tanks to provide the latest techniques in care for all student-athletes.
  • The TCU Sports Medicine Center also includes the latest in NormaTac MVP recovery system, which is used by professional teams and only a handful of college programs, and is the very latest in cutting edge athlete recovery technology.
  • The TCU Sports Medicine Center features a rehabilitation room, which includes all new equipment in free motion machines, stair climbers and exercise bikes.

Colonial Country Club

Golf Courses

  • The Frogs have access to over 30 courses in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
  • The Frogs use five primary courses that are considered some of the best in the State of Texas as well as around the country in Shady Oaks Country Club, Mira Vista Country Club, Colonial Country Club, Ridglea Country Club and River Crest Country Club – all located within minutes of campus.
  • Every year, Colonial Country Club plays host to the Crowne Plaza Colonial Invitational and has also served as the home to the 1941 U.S. Open, 1975 Player’s Championship and 1991 U.S. Women’s Open.
  • Shady Oaks was known as the second home of legendary golfer Ben Hogan, who was quoted as saying “You won’t find anything like this any place else in the world.”
  • The Frogs have access to one of the finest teaching and practice facilities in the country in Leonard Golf Links, which is home to NIKE’s Research and Development Center.
  • Leonard Golf Links offers three-acre Tiff Bermuda grass tees with 62 stations; 10,000-square-foot Bentgrass putting green, short-game area with practice bunkers; 60-foot tall halide light fixtures for night-time practice; covered tee area for bad weather; and full-service pro shop.
  • Leonard Golf Links also offers a top-quality teaching staff headed by Dana Bellenger – a member of NIKE’s Elite Professional Staff – and professional club fittings by former TCU standout Steve Russell.

Davis Academic Learning Center

  • The Davis Academic Learning Center was designed with the goal of aiding student-athletes in their academic endeavors while achieving maximum performance inside the classroom.
  • The 6,000-square-foot facility showcases the TCU Athletics Department’s commitment to helping its over 450 student-athletes succeed in the classroom while developing the necessary skills to succeed in life.
  • Located on the first floor of the John S. Justin Athletic Center, the Davis Academic Learning Center features 10 tutor rooms, a computer lab, large open study room area as well as a writing lab supervised by two writing specialists trained by the TCU Writing Center.
  • The Davis Academic Learning Center is also home to the Athletic Academic Services Office, which consists of a Director along with a staff of eight and countless student tutors available at all times for the needs of the TCU student-athletes.
  • The Davis Academic Learning Center was made possible by the generous donation by John and Leah Davis. John Davis was a former Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Pegasus Solutions, Inc., in Dallas before coming the CEO of Birch Street Systems.

TCU Weight Room

  • The TCU Weight Room was renovated in the summer 2006 to expand to 9,000-square-feet with all of the latest equipment in free weights and machines.
  • The TCU Weight Room is located in the sound end zone of Amon G. Carter Stadium and is a part of the Walsh Physical Performance Complex.
  • The TCU Weight Room features nine double-sided power racks with platforms, three new sets of dumbbells and 1,000-square-feet of state-of-the-art weight room flooring.
  • The TCU Weight Room is spacious enough to fit multiple TCU athletics programs at one time, but gives all Frog student-athletes enough room to get the most out of their strength and conditioning programs.
